Privacy Policy — Weekend Kids
Last updated: 6 October 2026
The short version
Weekend Kids has no accounts, no login and no servers of its own. Everything you enter stays on your phone. We cannot see it, because it never reaches us.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers Weekend Kids, an iOS app made by Xin Li, an individual developer in Australia. "We" in this policy means Xin Li.
What we store on your device
- Your children's ages, as a range such as "Under 1" or "3 years". We do not ask for, and never store, your child's name or date of birth.
- Your home suburb, chosen from a list.
- Places you save.
- The places it has recently shown you, so it can avoid suggesting the same park every week, and simple counts of how often features are used.
- The last weather forecast, with the rounded location described below, so the app can open without waiting for the network.
All of it is stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
What leaves your device
Nothing you have entered. Three things do involve the network:
- Weather. To show you the forecast, the app sends an approximate location to Apple's weather service, WeatherKit. Before sending, it rounds the location to about 11 kilometres — enough for the right forecast, not enough to identify where you live. Nothing else is sent with it, and it is not connected to you or your children in any way.
- Weekend events. Where events are offered, the app downloads the list of events from our file server. The request carries nothing you have entered.
- Subscriptions. If you subscribe to Weekend Kids Plus, Apple handles the purchase. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details; the app only learns from Apple whether a subscription is active.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your name, email address or phone number.
- We do not create an account for you.
- We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not include third-party analytics or advertising software.
- We do not sell or share your information, because we do not have it.
Maps
The Nearby tab can show places on a map. Map images come from Apple, which means Apple sees which part of the map you are looking at, the same as in any app that shows a map. It does not receive anything you entered here — not your children's ages, not your home suburb, not what you saved.
If you would rather not, the list view shows the same places and loads no map images.
Location
If you allow it, the app uses your location to measure how far away each place is. You can decline, and the app works normally — it will use the home suburb you set instead. Your precise location is never stored and never sent anywhere; only the rounded version described above is used, and only for weather.
Children
This app is for parents and carers, not for children. We ask for a child's age range only to decide which places to suggest — whether a playground needs to be fenced, whether a change table matters. That age range stays on your device.
Accuracy of place information
We work hard to describe places accurately, but details change: playgrounds are renovated, cafes close, opening hours move. Please check anything that matters to your family's safety before you travel.
Your rights
Because all your information is on your own device, you control it directly. You can remove a child's age or change your suburb at any time in the app, and deleting the app erases everything. There is nothing held by us to request, correct or delete.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and note it in the app's release notes.
